Yesterday: 3-5
Not off to a good start, which was expected...
Toronto Raptors @ Cleveland Cavaliers (-11): The Q is the house of pain for opponents and tonight should be no exception to this. Expect Cleveland to come out hard for the first 3 quarters so they can build a 20+ lead and rest their starters since they travel to MSG tomorrow.
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Indiana Pacers (-4): The T'Wolves had a great January run, meanwhile the Pacers are hella difficult to figure out. This is a gut pick more than anything but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Minnesota won straight up.
Boston Celtics (-2.5) @ Philadelphia 76ers: I saw this spread and cocked my eyebrow like The Rock used to do. Makes some sense- KG won't be playing tonight...but this is a team that has won 11 in a row goin up against a 23-23 team that shot 2-22 in the 4th quarter in their last game and lost to a Nets team that played that quarter without Vince Carter. Boston wins this one by 10.
Milwaukee Bucks (+4.5) @ New Jersey Nets: The Nets aren't that good of a home team (9-15) and VC won't be at 100% even if he does play. Richard Jefferson will be making his IZod Center return and will want to stick it to his former mates. Plus Milwaukee has been playing decent as of late...I would take them straight up for sure; but the spread is fine too if you're not in the mood to be greedy.
Chicago Bulls @ Houston Rockets (-7.5): The Rockets are still pissed about their come from ahead loss to Philly a few days ago...and they took it out on Golden State. I don't like Chicago's prospects in this one tonight either.
San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets (-6): Usually I would take the Spurs given their successes with the Nuggets- but the oldest team in the NBA just went to OT the night before by the lowly Golden State Warriors and have to head to take a team that hasn't played since Friday. Carmelo is back as well.
And so on.
